What’s a wedding without flowers?  I mean, let’s face it- when was the last time you went to a wedding that didn’t have flowers?  From the bridal party bouquets, to the church decorations, to the center pieces, the flowers can really add up!

Flowers are also something that more and more people are opting to take care of themselves. If you think you might want to do so, understand that it’s not going to be easy and it will take a fair amount of time… but it is completely do-able!

Angie Zimmerman has a long history and many years of experience in wedding flower design, but she also realizes the need and want for people to be able to do their own flowers for their wedding.  For this reason, Angie has created the Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flower Guide and DVD Set- a must-have for anyone planning on taking on the flowers themselves!

Angie’s guide includes 5 DVDs and a Guide Book that cover:

  • Where to get inexpensive, quality flowers,
  • How to make a bouquet or arrangement so that it holds up all day,
  • How to properly store flowers and bouquets, and
  • What materials are needed to produce bouquets and arrangements so they look professionally designed and kept… just to name a few!

Even if you are not planning on doing your own flowers, Angie’s guide can be a great tool to use to get lots of ideas for the person who is doing your flowers.

Click here for more information on Angie’s DVD/book set.  I wouldn’t recommend doing flowers without it!

According to The Knot following these 4 simple rules will help you create spectacular fall wedding bouquet.

Texturize

The hottest trend for wedding flowers arrangements this luxurious, color saturated, and full of texture. The Knot suggests using a wide variety of flowers that coordinate with your color scheme instead of just two or three types of flowers.

Traditional Flowers in deep dramatic shades.

Tailor your flowers to the time of year; choose rich hues and classic flowers. The Knot suggests aubergine, copper, and forest green for the colors and dahlias, roses, hydrangeas, and calla lilies for the flowers.

Pick a Polished Bouquet

Choose more structured bequests instead of ones that are loosely tied. Richly hued and tightly packed in textured ribbon are what trend conscious brides are carrying up the aisle this fall. Don’t for get the groomsmen either; be sure to wrap the stems of their boutonnieres too.

Go Green

Be eco-friendly and use plants and flowers grown locally. This reduces carbon emissions and if grown organically, the use of pesticides.
