It was super tough to decide because all the ladies in the Community of Wedding Innovators are such amazing and... http://t.co/WIFUqIEZ

A wedding symoblizes the joining of a couple in holy matrimony… AND it symbolizes a union between two families. For such occasions, many families have an heirloom that has been passed down through the generations whenever a son or daughter has gotten married.
If you belong to one of those families, you may be wondering how you are going to wear your great-great-grandmother’s very antique necklace without ruining your modern-day style!
Well, the answer lies in the accessories. You can mix your old family heirloom with a new element- swarovski crystals, for example- to incorporate an antique piece while keeping your look chic and fresh! With their semi-antique appeal and their contemporary, elegant style, swarovski crystals are an awesome liasion between antique and modern.
A great place to shop for your swarovski jewelry is at Jeweliette Accessories out of Vancouver. “Inspired by fashion, yet true to timeless elegance,” they have been pioneering the fashion jewelry industry for 20 years. They have tons of swarovski jewelry for you to choose from, but if you can’t find exactly what you’re looking for in their collection, one of their talented desigers will work with you to make custom pieces exactly the way you want them!
Last year while I was in Vancouver I discovered frocks. A fabulous dress shop specializing in the prettiest bridesmaid dresses! Always a tough sell, bridesmaid dresses are not known for their wearability once the wedding is over but frocks changes all that.
AND they just opened a new shop in Calgary!!!
Catherine Staveley and Deb Viccars carry a line of dresses your “bridesmaids will love & can wear again!” I absolutely love the modern colors and classic styles. Their real life wedding section shows how these dresses really come to life on real life bridesmaids. I think it’s important to note that these girls all have very different body types but the dresses look fab on each of them!

Frocks also has a coordinating line of dresses for your flower girls! Totally sweet!

Let me be the first to say, “Welcome to Calgary Frocks!! You’re VERY Welcome On the Wedding Scene!”
As brides are opting for unique weddings that highlight their personalities grooms are doing the same. Gone are the days of the polished black shoes for the groom and his groomsmen. You’ll see now that they are going for comfort. Converse shoes are becoming a big hit with wedding parties.
I was searching the web and found that there are some really cool pictures posted on flicker of groomsmen wearing converse shoes and other sneakers. You can even design your own pair of custom made chucks for the wedding day so all the groomsmen are matching and this could be a great gift idea as well! Just imagine the photos on your wedding day – what great memories!

Heather Lee, Assistant Editor, Brides Local Magazines blogged about Sweet B Papers and their stylish ring bearer pillows. Heather likes their seersucker pillows as shown below.

I’m a fan of their cream on cream ruffle pillows.

Each pillow is custom made and you can choose color and adornments to match your wedding style. I think that these pillows make such a stylish statement! They also make for an amazing keepsake as you could place them on your newlywed bed as decorative pillows.
Once again I looked to those things in life that I love when planning my booth for the Bridal Fair last Sunday. Sitting down on a comfy couch for a good chat defiantly ranks up there. So why not have an area for a quiet chat at your wedding? A place to sit and catch up with friends and family you haven’t seen in awhile. Not to mention that it is a welcome relief for those who wear killer stilettos!
One thing I always want to create for my Brides is a look to make their signature colors pop. One way to do this is to use splashes of this color on a neutral background. I used the lime green and pink on a dark brown background at my Bridal Expo booth this past weekend in just this way.
By using splashes of lime green and pink instead of draping everything in these colors you make the color stand out and become special. This will draw your guests in and let them notice the little details that would be lost in a sea of pink and green.
